"You are busy gathering silver and gold but you have neglected your richest treasure.
Your richest treasure is your children." -- Sadhu Vaswani
"The richest treasure
of a family, a community, a society, a nation is the children. Put the child right
and the world will come out right. Give your children time, give them attention,
give them the love of your pure unselfish hearts, give them the right type of training
in the home, give them the right type of education in the school and in the college,
and they will be the builders of a brave new world." -- Dada J.P. Vaswani
Hindu children are the inheritors of one of the greatest cultural, religious and
spiritual traditions of the world. However, Hindu children growing up in Western
societies are often unaware of their Hindu Heritage.
As an effort to address this growing cultural gap, the Sadhu Vaswani Center is launching
Sadhu Vaswani Gurukul, a US based educational mission aimed at educating the youth
of all community in Hinduism. Sadhu Vaswani Gurukul has its roots in the 閃ira Movement
in Education・ started by Sadhu Vaswani, which emphasizes on character-building and
spiritual molding.
The purpose of Sadhu Vaswani Gurukul is to provide an opportunity for the youth
to explore and understand the diverse traditions and philosophies of Hinduism and
expose young minds to the goodness of Indian culture and values. Sadhu Vaswani Gurukul
is dedicated to helping the youth discover what it means to be a Hindu and be proud
of it.
